Retro-Commissioning (RCx) Incentive—How to Apply
The Retro-Commissioning Incentive involves capturing energy and demand reductions from existing facilities by optimizing building system energy use and overall efficiency. AmerenUE will utilize a pool of qualified RCx agents to provide energy assessment services and assistance in implementing identified solutions to customers to ensure that their systems are operating at optimal energy efficiency. This incentive is voluntary and available to customers qualifying pursuant to the Business Energy Efficiency Availability section and meeting the program provisions below. Although most facilities can benefit from some form of retro-commissioning, customer facilities that will be targeted in this program will include those with:
		A higher than average Energy Utilization Index (EUI) (kWh/ft2)
		Minimum of 100,000 ft2 of conditioned space
		Presence of an Energy Management System (EMS) with Direct Digital Controls (DDC)
		Mechanical equipment in relatively good condition
Incentives will be provided to building owners to encourage performance of RCx Assessment Studies and implementation of recommended measures. Incentives will include:
		Reimbursement for up to 80% of the RCx Assessment Study, payable after recommended measures have been implemented. See Reimbursement table.
		Reimbursement of implementation costs at a rate of $0.06/kWh up to the total cost of implementing the measures.
Program Process
1.	Contact the program office to start the application process.
2.	Program staff will review your application. If your facility does not qualify for the RCx Incentive, you may qualify for a Custom or Standard Incentive.
3.	An Assessment Study will be completed by the RCx provider to identify measures. Participants will have six months from their receipt of the study to install measures.
4.	The RCx provider will assist you in implementing the measures.
5.	The RCx provider will train your staff.
6.	The RCx provider will verify, correct if needed, and complete implementation.
7.	An incentive check will be issued within 45 days of verifying measure installation.
8.	The RCx provider performs on-going monitoring to ensure persistence.
Note: Incentive levels are subject to program guidelines. The maximum annual incentive per individual site is $250,000. The maximum annual incentive per individual customer is $500,000. Assistance may be available from the Program to quantify your project’s potential energy savings.
