St. Louis Area Boys Scouts Attend Merit Badge Skill Center at Ameren

October 5, 2009

The Boy Scouts of America – Greater St. Louis Area Council recently held an Electricity Merit Badge Skill Center at Ameren’s headquarters in St. Louis, helping 50 scouts earn their electricity merit badge.

The event, sponsored by AmerenUE’s Business and Community Relations Department, covered topics and hands-on activities on meter reading, electric current explanations, magnetism and safety. The Skill Center was administered by approximately 20 adult volunteers, including active and retired Ameren employees, with some who initially began the Skill Center 40 years ago.
