Customer Service Careers

Engineering Opportunities
Engineering opportunities at Ameren range from positions in power generation, distribution and transmission, as well as within our corporate offices.
 
Engineers perform studies, create designs and manage project activities for the maintenance and modification of existing systems. Ameren engineers consult and communicate with customers, contractors and colleagues, and their duties are wide-ranging depending on the project they are supporting.

Ameren’s energy centers require continuous operation and maintenance so we can provide power in a safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible way. Energy Centers also play an important role as we continue to meet our customers’ energy needs. 

Ameren energy center positions include entry level, apprenticeships, journeymen and supervisory.

Energy Delivery & Line Careers
Line workers maintain the high voltage wires and equipment carrying electricity to homes and businesses. The construction, maintenance and repair of this essential component of the electrical grid is the responsibility of our linemen and women. Though much of their routine maintenance work goes largely unnoticed by the public, they are a welcome sight to home and business owners when they arrive on the scene to restore power after a storm outage.

  • Line workers need to be able to work at heights and climb tall structures.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
Nuclear Opportunities

Maintenance - works in mechanical and electrical areas, including instruments and controls and maintenance support.

Operations - operates nuclear reactor equipment in a safe and efficient manner and handles and stores nuclear fuel on site.

Radiation Protection - works to ensure that the radiological health and safety of the energy center staff and public are as low as reasonably achievable.

Protective Services - oversees security, emergency preparedness and protective services support.

Engineering - provides technical support to energy center operations which includes testing, program administration, fuel management, reactor design and radiological engineering.
 
Work Management - plans and implements refueling outages and other work activities.

Quality Assurance - manages quality control, inspection and testing activities to support maintenance and outages.

Training - coordinates the development, preparation and presentation of training programs for energy center personnel to maintain safe, legal and efficient operations.

Administration
- provides clerical support, including maintaining all required records and documents for the energy center.
