Ameren Internships/Co-ops
Ameren’s internship and co-op programs are all about hands on experience and provide professional growth and experience with substantial benefits.
The length of your experience at Ameren depends on your academic schedule and our company needs. Ameren provides two options:

  • Internship: Full-time employment during the summer; usually May to mid-August.
  • Co-op: Full-time during one semester and summer break; approximately eight months.

To be eligible for internship or co-op positions, applicants must:
  • Be enrolled in a related degree program
  • Successfully pass Ameren’s drug screen and background check
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States
Internship and Co-op Salary and Benefits
As a participant in the Ameren internship program, you may qualify for:
  • A salary commensurate with your experience and education
  • Pay for holidays that fall during your service period

  • College credit (eligibility depends on individual college or university)

Ameren Employment Locations
Ameren services approximately 2.4 million electric and 900,000 gas customers throughout our 64,000 square mile territory. As a result, we have many potential work locations.

Internships and Co-ops Application Information
All applications for employment with Ameren are submitted through our Careers website. As a potential applicant, you can set up a personalized profile with eRecruit that allows you to:  

  • Provide Ameren with your background and employment history
  • Attach multiple versions of your resume and cover letter
  • Track your status on positions you have applied for
  • Create a job alert that notifies you via email, as soon as a new position matching your criteria is posted

Submit your application
  1. View current job postings.
  2. Log in to your account, or click the Sign Up button to start the online registration process.
  3. Complete all the required fields, including creating a UserID and Password. 
  4. Click Continue.
  5. On the Careers Home page, perform a basic job search or select a position from the latest job postings.
  6. When prompted enter your work history, education, resume, cover letter, additional documents, references, and other information. We store your application information. You can return to your application data, and make updates at any time. Be sure to remember your UserID and password.
  7. When all your information is entered, click Submit.

Note: A high-speed internet connection is best for this process.
