Creating a balanced mix of generation to increase capacity, investing in smart technology to reduce outages - we're making the grid stronger today, so it can meet your needs tomorrow.

 

 

Smart Grid

We’re installing smart grid technology to improve reliability throughout the community. Smart switches, placed along overhead lines, can rapidly detect outages and quickly reroute power to restore service, improving reliability by up to 40%.

Storm Hardening

We’re constantly exploring innovative ways to improve reliability during severe weather. Strategically-placed composite poles, which are stronger than wood poles, help harden the system against straight-line winds. Storm related outages have been significantly reduced on sections of power lines with storm-hardening upgrades.

Reliable Generation

Ameren Missouri is transforming its generation fleet with the acceleration of clean energy additions. Thoughtfully integrating a new, diverse mix of generation sources while maintaining the availability of our existing energy centers through retirement is essential for a reliable, resilient and affordable clean energy future.
