Ameren Missouri distributes natural gas to more than 90 communities and is the state’s second-largest distributor of natural gas, serving more than 130,000 customers. Many of these communities are growing to welcome new residents and businesses, and we are committed to meeting their evolving energy needs. We are making improvements to our existing infrastructure and expanding and modernizing the natural gas supply line that provides residential and commercial customers in the region with safe and reliable energy. We are also upgrading natural gas meters with new modules for all customers to provide them with detailed information they can use to manage their energy usage.

 

What

On Sept. 30, 2024, Ameren Missouri filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) to adjust natural gas rates, reflecting major upgrades to the natural gas system. These investments ensure the system remains safe, reliable and resilient for natural gas customers today and into the future.

When

New rates would go into effect in the fall of 2025 following a thorough review by the PSC over the next 11 months.

Why

Ameren Missouri is committed to meeting the energy needs of customers and keeping rates as stable as possible. We are focused on making the natural gas system safe and dependable for families and businesses while keeping costs as low as possible.

How Much

If the request is approved by regulators, the rate adjustment in 2025 would cost an average natural gas customer about $16 more a month based on approximately 48 ccf of usage.
