Working with community partners, housing organizations and owners and managers of multifamily properties, Ameren Missouri's CommunitySavers® Program is designed to help income-eligible homeowners and renters lower their energy bills and reduce maintenance costs.

Ways to Save

Program representatives can help identify your facility’s energy saving potential and provide a list of efficient products to install and services to provide in order to optimize energy use. Energy saving products installed and services provided at your facility may include:

  • Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
  • Efficient Showerheads & Faucet Aerators
  • ENERGY STAR Refrigerators
  • LED Lighting
  • Attic Insulation

What is the CommunitySavers® Single Family Program?

The Single Family Program is offered at no cost to homeowners and tenants by Ameren Missouri in partnership with Spire.

A Home Energy Advisor will evaluate how your home uses energy. During the assessment, the advisor may install energy-saving products that help you reduce energy costs immediately. Your home may also be eligible for additional home energy upgrades to optimize energy use.

Please note: This program is fully subscribed for 2025. However, you can still sign up for our interest list to be notified when enrollment opens again! We appreciate your interest in the CommunitySavers® program, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Single Family Program Requirements

Eligible homes must have an active Ameren Missouri electric account, three or fewer attached or detached living units, and participants must meet one of the following income eligibility requirements:

1. Participation in federal, state, or local subsidized housing program.
2. Proof of resident income levels at or below 80% of area median income (AMI) or 200% of federal poverty level.
3. Fall within a census tract included on Company's list of eligible low-income census tracts.

What is the CommunitySavers® Multifamily Program?

If you are multifamily property owner or manager and your property contains four or more attached units, your facility may receive low- or no-cost energy-saving upgrades if your residents meet certain income eligibility requirements. Read more below on how our Multifamily Program is designed to help multifamily property owners and managers reduce maintenance costs while lowering their residents’ energy bills. The CommunitySavers® Multifamily Program is offered by Ameren Missouri in partnership with Spire. Participation is easy and our energy-saving experts will help you through every step of the process, including:

 

Assessment

An energy-saving expert can identify your property’s energy-saving opportunities, and provide a list of recommendations

Approval

Contractors will work with you to refine the scope of your project and establish any co-pays for your recommended energy-efficient upgrades

Installation

Contractors will work with you to complete the upgrades to your facilities and help train your staff on proper maintenance

Payment

Once installation is complete and final paperwork submitted, an incentive check will be issued, and you’ll enjoy reduced energy costs each month!

Resources and Frequently Asked Questions

Your home energy advisor will be wearing an Ameren Missouri shirt and an Ameren Missouri picture ID badge.

If you are part of a housing organization that is engaged with the program, you will be contacted by a program representative or your property management staff to schedule your assessment. If you are a homeowner or otherwise not associated with a participating housing organization, you can fill out the inquiry form to get started! A program representative will follow up on your inquiry to give you more information and communicate next steps.

The energy assessment and initial product installation usually take about two hours. Based on the assessment, additional free efficiency upgrades may be available to you and could take half a day up to two days for completion  this will be scheduled for a later date. 

No, this program is offered for free to eligible Ameren Missouri customers in partnership with Spire Gas. There is no charge for the energy assessment or for the products and services provided.

The energy advisor must be given access to all rooms in your home for work to proceed. The energy advisor will be looking at areas inside and outside of your home; they will need access to the basement, attic, and all heating and cooling equipment. Additionally, all pets must be secured in a safe location while the work is being performed.

The program operates through December 31, 2024; however, incentives are dependent on available funds.

Every household sees different results because exact savings depend on a variety of factors, including how many people live in your home, how often you are home and how much energy you use.

One easy way is to sign up for the Peak Time Savings Program, which uses your thermostat’s smart technology to look for energy-saving opportunities every day. You can earn $50 for signing up and $25 each year you participate.*
